Championship Vinyl Banners
I enjoy playing or watching any sport. From Olympic gymnastics to the Stanley Cup to college baseball, I love them all. With the World Cup starting this weekend, I’m certain to be glued to the television for the next month catching every second of the world’s best soccer players in action. My brother, Zach, is the same way. It would not be unrealistic to say that Zach loves sports more than his big brother. Zach’s mood is 100% determined by the outcome of games involving his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. A Braves win means that Zach is happy and smiling. Stay away from Zach when the Braves lose, because he’s not a very fun person to be around at those times.
A TRADITION UNLIKE ALL OTHERS.
I’m not talking about The Masters golf tournament, either. I’m talking about teams hanging banners from the rafters of their stadiums the year after winning a championship. Three things about this tradition excite me. Read on to learn about those three things.
NUMERO UNO
I like that teams have a special ceremony in which fans are invited to watch and take pictures of the champions hoisting their brand new custom banner up into the rafters where it will hang for years to come. I think it’s a good thing for fans and athletes to spend time together away from the field or court. Teams that don’t appreciate their fans are often the teams that finish in last place.
#2
I like that the championship banners are always full color banners and most of the time these championship full color banners are vinyl banners. Full color banners are really useful in that they lighten up the typically dark rafter area of a coliseum. Full color banners are very easy to read because the bright print causes the letters to jump off of the vinyl banner, meaning that even people with poor vision can see the championship custom banner.
NUMBER THREE
I LOVE when the opposing team gets intimidated by all of the full color banners hanging from the ceiling of the gym. Nothing excites an athlete more than hearing the roar of his home crowd cheering his team to victory. A home crowd can truly disrupt and intimidate a visiting team. It’s especially intimidating when the visitors look up at the ceiling and see three or four championship full color banners hanging down. When a visiting player sees those custom banners and hears the roar of the home crowd, all he or she can think is, “wow, this is going to be a long night.”
CAN YOU THINK OF ANYTHING NOT TO LIKE ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIP CUSTOM BANNERS?
The only issue I have with championship custom banners is that there are not more of them. If I were in charge of all sports, I would do away with trophies and cups and I would put all of the emblematical emphasis on the custom banner that a team is awarded for winning its respective championship. This means that instead of skating around with a giant cup held high over their heads, the Stanley Cup winning hockey players would instead skate around the rink displaying a banner for all of the fans to in the building to see. I would call this trophy the Stanley Cup Banner. In college football, instead of being presented with a crystal ball, the national champions would be given a football molded custom banner. I would call this the National Champions’ Crystal Vinyl Banner. You see where I’m going with this, right? Full color banners are an asset to sports, and they should be treated as such!
