How can I over 20 amps with 12 / 2 son who has a red / black / and ground wire?
If I wired my 20 cooking vessels with 12 amps / 2 son who has a red, black, ground wire, do I use the red wire to a neutral and the black as hot? Only 12 / 2 and not 12 / 3. There is no white wire. Just a red, black and bare soil.
The red hot black neutral. Edit: He's right about marking it with tape. I saw red / black repeatedly in older buildings. In homes, it was common to 220V but of course not 12 ga. The reason I said red hot is that red is used to indicate heat from the main power source. This could be the building or has been a source of tension in a piece of equipment.
