what is the difference between a hollow body and a solid body in guitars?
…in electric guitars.
this is a semi-acoustic like say a gibson casino
and a full body electric ie. a fender
dose the hollow provent feedback? can you still acquire the ‘rock’ sound with a semi-acoustic? advatages and disadvantages?

A hollow-body is an electric guitar with chambers whether or not it had f-holes or the cutouts. Typically if you are using gain you want to avoid a hollow body, as they feedback. They are the same electronics as an solid-body electric guitar, but it has a hollow body. Its is all based on the application, if you are playing rock, go for a hollow-body if your want, but if you are going for anything heavier, you must go for a solid body to prevent feedback and in general a tighter tone.
